Epigastric hernia, a form of abdominal ventral accounts for 0.5 – 10.0% all wall hernias. These may be congenital due to incomplete midline fusion developing lateral domains or acquired. It usually occurs in individuals the age groups 20 50 years and infants. is rarely large enough admit more than small amount extra-peritoneal fat. We discuss an epigastric hernia known only little 4-hours, presented strangulated, leading ischaemia bowel requiring resection review literature on hernias their complications.
